Responsible spraying - environmentally friendly, hygienic, sustainable!
The bag-on-valve (BOV) aerosol technology
TUNAP stands for intelligent product ideas and sustainable developments. Our aim is to always deliver first-class quality and at the same time fulfil the highest standards in terms of health and environmental compatibility. The bag-on-valve (BOV) aerosol technology is a particularly good example of how we implement these principles in specific product concepts.
BOV technology is the preferred choice in various application areas. Compared to conventional aerosol technologies, BOV is characterised in particular by the following features:
- Hohe Haltbarkeit
- Optimale Sprühfähigkeiten
- Nahezu vollständige Entleerung der Dose
- Hygienische Reinheit durch die räumliche Trennung von Treibgas und Produkt
- Verwendung umweltfreundlicher Gase
These advantages make BOV technology an innovative solution for a wide range of applications.

Pure spraying pleasure
Bag-on-valve technology epitomises quality, sustainability and environmental compatibility. Instead of relying on flammable propellants, this intelligent spray dispenser system uses environmentally friendly gases such as air or nitrogen - a practice that is also used in many of our conventional aerosol technologies, where technically feasible, with climate-friendly propellants.
In a bag-on-valve aerosol, the active ingredient is completely separated from the propellant in a hermetically sealed bag. This allows the product to be applied in its purest form - the complete purity of the formulation is retained.
The hermetic seal prevents contamination and oxidation of the active ingredient. This results in an extended shelf life of the product and the option to reduce preservatives.
Bag-on-valve aerosol technology: advantages in use
Use of environmentally friendly gases such as air or nitrogen - no use of flammable fuels.
The hermetic and functionally safe packaging in an aluminium bag ensures a hygienically pure product.
The product has a longer shelf life: the aluminium bag prevents contamination and oxidation of the active ingredients.
The BOV aerosol can can be sprayed in any direction and from any angle - even overhead!
Separation of product & propellant
In conventional spray dispenser systems, the product and propellant are contained in the can. Bag-on-valve aerosols, on the other hand, separate the two physically.
The active ingredient is contained in a flexible, sealed aluminium bag that is connected to the valve. The compressed propellant gas is located outside this bag, in the space between the bag and the inner can wall.
When the spray head is pressed, the product is applied in its pure form - unlike conventional aerosols, where the product and propellant are sprayed together.
FAQ on BOV: Diverse applications and sustainable use
BOV is suitable for all products that are also used in conventional aerosols. However, the range of applications extends far beyond conventional aerosols.
Yes, a bag-on-valve can can be sprayed in any position (360°), which makes it particularly suitable for use in demanding conditions, such as overhead.
BOV offers solutions for substances with a low content of volatile organic compounds (low VOC) and at the same time enables the production of aerosols with higher pressures.
Bag-on-valve technology is particularly suitable for products that are difficult to fill with compressed gases, such as non-polar or viscous active ingredients. Sensitive or aggressive formulations, e.g. cleaning products in the automotive sector, also find a solution in BOV.
Instead of flammable gases, BOV uses environmentally friendly propellants such as air or nitrogen, which makes aerosol technology safer and more environmentally friendly.
BOV technology is sustainable in use and disposal. The materials are generally recyclable, the product can be used several times and the special shape of the bag enables the can to be emptied almost completely and profitably.
