During a visit to the FES Institute in Berlin, our apprentice and our student trainee had the opportunity for an intensive, professional exchange about the optimal ride on the bike. They were also allowed to present their work on the bicycle test bench and to follow the result live and “in action” at the UCI Track Cycling World Championship.
The entire German track bike team was on the road with our TUNAP M.A.R.S. lubricant. But what exactly speaks for M.A.R.S. as a chain lubricant? Quite simply: M.A.R.S. offers significant advantages over conventional, commercially available chain lubricants. M.A.R.S. was specially developed for the chain, therefore the main focus here is on performance.
According to our measurements, athletes at 1,000 metres have a mathematical advantage of approx. 0.1 seconds if they ride with chains prepared using M.A.R.S.. In the 4,000 metre pursuit, this lead in time can add up to 0.8 seconds. Our chain lubricant can therefore decide whether the result is a win or a loss.
Emma Hinze, Pauline Grabosch and Lea Sophie Friedrich won the first World Championship title for the German women in a team sprint. In the final, Emma Hinze and Pauline Grabosch did not give the Australian team a chance with 32.163 seconds and 32.384 seconds, respectively. Lea Sophie Friedrich also won the rainbow jersey in 33.121 seconds in the 500 metre sprint and became the World Champion - with an extremely narrow lead of 0.033 seconds to silver and 0.05 seconds to bronze. It is clear from the results: TUNAP has a small, yet not to be underestimated, share in the successful performance of the German track and field athletes at the World Championship.
In addition to another gold medal in the 1000 metre sprint, Emma Hinze confidently won her third World Championship title at Keirin on TUNAP M.A.R.S.. In the individual pursuit, Lisa Brennauer won silver, followed by Lisa Klein, who won the bronze. The women's quartet consisting of Franziska Brauße, Lisa Brennauer, Lisa Klein and Gudrun Stock rode 4,000 metres in 4:12.964 minutes, coming third.
Finally, Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt won bronze in the Madison. Both had hoped for a little more, but they still achieved their minimum goal with a medal.
We are proud of our athletes and look forward to the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo, for which all track bike athletes have qualified. Here too, the German riders will start with our M.A.R.S. optimised chains. Likewise, the rest of the BDR national team will compete with TUNAP on their chains - because M.A.R.S. also works perfectly on the road or off-road.
We are looking forward to Tokyo and wish all participants a successful game!
Best wishes,
Your M.A.R.S. team
